the teen and his dad. >> when i seen him smile from plus a pyrotechnic christmas carol and a young rapper gets the bieber's seal of approval. >> he said this guy is rap. nice. helicopters are searching for sebastian booker, he's 33 years old. he went off trail at the cypress mountain ski resort in vancouver and got lost in this desolation. helicopters were searching for two and a half days. global bc news talked to a few rescuers. >> we had to do two 150-foot repels all in loose rock areas. the first team getting down was getting bombarded by falling rocks. >> this search went into the night. they had to bring in a larger

helicopter, and that helicopter brought such a strong downforce, it's like standing in these snowy trees in hurricane conditions. >> there went any snow left on the trees when we left there. you can imagine the ice chunks and stuff that hazards your eyes. unbelievable. >> look at the helmet cam footage from one of the rescuers. if you notice, there was a quick shot of a waterfall in that video. that's where the rescuers repel down. >> he, i believe, is on the south side of the creek waving his arms. >> eventually they caught up with sebastian and rescued him. he's okay. this whole rescue operation around $100,000 it cost. people are not happy with him. >> is he going to be held responsible for any of the costs? >> some reports say he could be responsible for as much as $10,000. >> not only does it cost money for them to get the equipment and people in, but those people risk their lives to go save

them. >> now after such a difficult rescue, got to blow off a little bit of steam and share a beer with your buddies. sebastian also with the rescue teams here. you see him wrapped up in an orange blanket, thankful to be alive. this video is from nairobi, i have to tell you incredibly difficult to watch. you see two men crouching down completely bloodied, then this -- [ speaking foreign language ]. >> why are we watching two defenseless men get beat? >> the poster of this video said that these guys belonged to a criminal group called superpower in this community. on this day they apparently stole a cell phone from someone on the street. the poster of the video said they terrorized that community, and i think that day they just had enough. >> so they're just judge, jury,

sentencing in this back room? >> apparently they have no police department, so the people decided they would take care of this issue themselves. you see the men finally able to walk away from where they've been cornered. a store owner did come in and save them from these men. just when you think they're safe, they get taken across the street where their wrists are tied together and they were paraded down the street to humiliate them. >> it is hard to watch. i hate to say this, but i hope this teaches these guys a lesson. >> it's hard to think that you could pursue a criminal if you don't have a police department, if people are having a fight, who will moderate that? >> let's hope the story behind this, that we are given is accurate that this is not just a video that somebody uploaded to intimidate other citizens. so far in 2012, indonesia

has had 120 volcanos erupt. this one erupted the other day. as you can see, there's ash and smoke coming from this puppy. >> it's just this enormous cloud of ash. then the fire and then the sounds that go with it. you can probably even feel it. >> the sky is blue until that volcano starts spewing, and then it turns gray. then you see volcano, ash, don't get too close. >> you don't see anything hot and molten like you would see in hawaii. this one you just see ash. what's interesting to see is the volcanic rock and the ash flow to the sea which was about two kilometers from where this whole thing went up. >> it almost looks alive. it looks like it's just literally a giant beast. >> like a big smoke monster. >> yeah, like a slow beast or blob come together community to take it over. if you look at the path, it's
